APD identifies woman killed in Southwest Parkway crash

Austin Police have identified the woman who died in a fatal crash on Southwest Parkway on Monday.

APD said Jessica Port, 32, was killed after her motorcycle struck a van on Southwest Parkway. Port was traveling east on Southwest Parkway when a van, headed west, made a left turn in front of Port's motorcycle, causing the crash. Port died at South Austin Hospital shortly after the crash.

Police said Port was wearing a helmet and alcohol was not a factor but they are still investigating the incident.

APD is asking anyone with information to call detectives at (512) 974-5594. This is Austin’s 51st fatal traffic crash and the 52nd fatality of 2016.
