APD locate missing, elderly man


The Austin Police Department said they have located Ernest Hintz, 97, and he is safe.


The Austin Police Department is asking for the community's help in locating a missing, endangered, elderly man.

APD said Ernest Hintz, 97, went missing around 11:30 A.M. and was last seen at his home in 1500 block of Brushy View Cove. 

Police describe Hintz as a white male, bald, green eyes, 5'5, and weighs around 130 pounds. He was last wearing a teal blue shirt, with khaki pants, and black shoes.

Authorities believe Ernest is in the Northeast Austin area. Anyone with information on his whereabouts are asked to call 911 or the Cold Case/Missing Persons Unit at 512-974-5250.
