APD searches for Home Goods robbery suspect

AUSTIN, Texas— The Austin Police Department is searching for a robbery suspect who entered a Home Goods store on Wednesday displaying a handgun and demanding cash.

APD authorities said shortly after 8 p.m. they responded to a robbery incident at Lakeline Mall Drive. The suspect was able to flee the scene minutes after entering. Patrol units checked the area but were unable to locate the suspect, according to officials.

The suspect did not discharge the handgun, but one employee of the store was injured after the suspect struck him with the firearm, officials said.

APD is now seeking the community’s assistance in locating the suspect. He is described as a White male,
-approximately 6’0” in height
-approximately 180 pounds

APD officials said the suspect was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, a camouflage mask over his face, and black pants with black shoes.
