ATCEMS: Dead body recovered from water, found by kayaker

AUSTIN, Texas (FOX 7 Austin) - A deceased person was recovered by first responders after a kayaker noticed the body floating near the shore on Thursday, July 18.

According to Austin-Travis County Emergency Medical Services, the body was reported to be floating in the water, near the shore, in the 5700 block of Levander Loop in East Austin. First responders were able to locate the dead body downstream from where the kayaker had reported seeing the body.

The deceased person is described as a male in his fifties. 

The Austin Police Department is investigating.
