The Austin Police Department have arrested and charged a man for his third felony DWI, Failing to Stop and Render Aid, and possession of marijuana after he hit two pedestrians in his SUV on Sunday.

Police said James Arnett, 54, was driving drunk when his SUV hit two people walking in a crosswalk on Red River around 9:45 Sunday night. An APD officer, who's dash cam video captured the incident, was nearby and stopped Arnett. When the officer went to reposition his car, Arnett drove away. The officer pulled Arnett over again and noticed Arnett had slurred speech and smelled of alcohol.

Arnett was taken to the Travis County Jail and his bail was set $60,000. Both pedestrians were injured but the extent of their injuries is not yet known.
