Austin Police investigating shooting in North Austin

The Austin Police Department is investigating a shooting in North Austin Saturday afternoon. 

According to Austin-Travis County EMS, the shooting happened in the 8800 block of Research Boulevard. Two people were transported by EMS to University Medical Center Brackenridge in Austin. 

One of the victim is suffering from critical life injuries. The other suffered serious injuries that are potentially life threatening.

According to police, the victims were in a car heading down the 183 Frontage Road when someone in possibly a red car shot at them. Both of the victims, who are believed to be in their 20's, ran to a nearby business for help.
