Austin Police looking for vehicle damaged by thrown pipe

FOX 7 obtained the following press release from the Austin Police Department.

The Austin Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in locating a victim that was driving a silver vehicle that may have been struck by a pipe in the area of S. Interstate Highway 35 and William Cannon Dr. on Monday, Jan. 25, 2016 around 4 p.m.
Witnesses observed a male subject walking along the William Cannon Dr. bridge over S. Interstate Highway 35. Witnesses observed the subject throw a section of pipe from the North side of the overpass, onto traffic below. Witnesses believe this pipe damaged a passing vehicle. Officers were able to detain and identify a potential suspect, who was pointed out by witnesses. 
In order to proceed with the investigation, the Austin Police Department would like to speak with the driver of the vehicle that was damaged by the pipe. 
Detectives are investigating this as an isolated incident, not connected to the ongoing rock throwing investigations in Austin.
