Austin police respond to shooting incident in East Austin

Austin police responded to a shooting in East Austin on Wednesday morning that they believe stemmed from a robbery. 

Police said the incident occurred at E. 2nd Street and N. Pleasant Valley Road around 10:40. The victim, a male in his 60s, and the suspect were at a bus stop when police said words were exchanged, then there was a gunshot. The victim had a grazed gunshot wound to his knee. He was transported to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries. 

Officials described the suspect as a black male who was between 5'2'' to 5'6.'' He was last seen wearing a black and white horizontal striped shirt and dark blue jeans.
