Authorities looking for Wimberley bank robbery suspect

The Hays County Sheriff's Office is investigating a bank robbery in Wimberley. Authorities are looking for a suspect who they say is considered to be armed and dangerous.

Officials say the robbery occurred at around 9:16 a.m. at the Broadway Bank located off of 14710 Ranch Road 12 in Wimberley on June 20.

The suspect, possibly a white male, went into the bank wearing a gray hoodie, a flesh colored mask, blue jeans, a grayish baseball cap with an eight-point star with "Cannon" in blue embroidery, black gloves and was armed with a black handgun with a green stripe on top of it.

The suspect was also carrying a black bag.

Officials say the suspect was last seen running towards the field north of the bank in heavy brush and that it is believed the suspect fled in a black or dark-colored Jeep SUV that was parked off site.

There were no customers in the bank and no bank employees were hurt during the robbery.

Officials remind the public to not approach the suspect as the suspect is considered to be armed and dangerous.

A $5,000 reward is being offered by the Texas Bankers Foundation for information that would lead to the arrest and indictment of the individual who robbed the bank.
