Cash scattered in front of bank after robbery

Police are looking for a man who robbed a Comerica bank Northeast Austin this morning. He got away with cash but, some of it ended up on the roadway.

Austin Police scrambled Friday morning as a strong wind scattered money in front of the Comerica Bank.
The cash got there after the bank was robbed.

"The suspect presented a note to tellers demanding money, he was given an undisclosed amount of money as well as a dye pack,” said Cpl. Angel Polansky.

The dye pack device went off marking more than cash.

“So the suspect should have dye on his clothing or his person,” said Polansky.

The explosion from the dye-pack apparently caused the bank robber to lose hold on some of the cash.
It was not known how much money he took or was picked off the sidewalk from the roadway and from the front lawn of the bank.

Investigators did release images of the man who they say robbed the bank.

He is described as a black male with facial hair. In his late 20's to mid 30's with a thin build, wearing a black jacket with a red shirt and white beanie.

No one was hurt and police were thankful the scattered money didn't cause any chain reaction accidents on the highway.
