Central Texas skydiving outfits launch 'Sky Wars', the combination of skydiving and paintball.

SkydiveTemple and ChuteNShoot announced Thursday in a press release that they would be making the combination possible.

SkydiveTemple.com and ChuteNShoot.com, the world’s only fly in gun store/skydiving store are happy to announce the inception of Sky Wars.

Currently, we are working on the next iteration with Empire Paintball to modify existing paintball guns to allow for hands free firing and to increase safety.

After approximately 9 hours of planning, briefing, and dirt dives (skydiver terminology for practicing on the ground), we put together an entertaining, and fun skydive.

Since the release of the youtube video 2 weeks ago, the video is approaching 12,000 views, with a nation-wide syndicated television show scheduled to premier the video on network television Monday.

One comment on the video's YouTube page asks, "Did any of the paintballer's shots actually hit... anything?"

Shelby 'Garage' Palmer with Skydive Temple replied, "Yes, there were three hits. We are currently modifying invert mini paintball markers to fire via a bite switch so that we are able to fly with both hands and fire simultaneously. We spent many hours briefing the jump to ensure safety for all involved. The next iteration should  be be more like a paintball tournament."
