Chili's lending a hand to local family

The Austin community is coming together to help a family struck by recent tragedy.

4-year-old Kaitlyn Oliver died last month when she was run over by a house boat in Temple Lake Park after getting tangled up in the propeller.

Her father, Patrick Oliver, jumped in to save her. He lost both legs and died a few days later from his injuries.

On Wednesday, Chili's Restaurants across Austin will hold a fundraiser for the Oliver family. Ten percent of sales will be given directly to the family through a Go Fund Me account.

To participate, just head to any Austin area restaurant and notify your server about the fundraiser.

The event starts at 11 a.m. and goes until 10 p.m.
