City of Buda issues rabies alert

The City of Buda has issued a rabies alert after a dead bat was found on the ground near the roadway in the 200 block of Sequoyah on July 17th at around 6 p.m.

Officials say the bat was tested by the Department of State Health Services and was found to be destroyed and untestable.

If you believe you or someone you know may have come in physical contact with the animal you're asked to call:

Officials remind individuals to avoid touching or handling grounded bats.
