Community comes together to honor Sgt. Craig Hutchinson

The Central Texas community is coming together in response to the death of a Travis County Sheriff's Office deputy. Sgt. Craig Hutchinson was killed in the early morning on July 25 while confronting suspects in the backyard of his home in Round Rock.

Friends and family gathered in Sgt. Hutchinson's neighborhood in the parking lot of the Micki Krebsbach Pool in the evening to show their support. The crowd of more than 100 included first responders, neighbors and strangers as well. There were prayers and words of encouragement.

In another tribute the Main Street Plaza in downtown Round Rock was lit up blue in Sgt. Hutchinson's honor.

Sgt. Hutchinson is survived by his wife, five children and two grandchildren.
