Deadline nears for Salvation Army Angel Tree registration

The deadline for the Salvation Army's Angel Tree registration is fast approaching. It gives kids fro low income families a chance to experience the holidays with toys and clothes. Ages range from birth to 12 years old.

Last year more than 6,000 angels were adopted in Travis and Williamson Counties. This year the Salvation Army hopes to increase that number and provide gifts to 8,000 children.

To register you can set up an appointment by October 20 with the Salvation Army by calling either 512-445-2003 or 512-822-0923.

The organization also takes walk-ins at the Christmas Cheer Warehouse at 6510 S. Congress Avenue until October 21 at 3 p.m.

Calling in is highly recommended if you'd like to avoid long lines and to ensure qualification and proper documentation.
