Deadly overnight shooting in Pflugerville

The Austin Police Department is investigating a deadly overnight shooting near the intersection of Wells Branch Parkway and Heatherwilde Boulevard in Pflugerville. One man died and another suffered minor injuries.

According to police, a passerby called 911 around 3 a.m. this morning after he saw a man laying on the side of Wells Branch Parkway with minor injuries. While he was on the phone with dispatch, he realized there was also a car nearby. Inside that car was a man in his twenties who had been shot and killed.

The injured man who was lying on the side of the parkway was taking to Round Rock Medical Center.

After interviewing the injured man, detectives realized that the two men were brothers.

According to APD, there was some sort of collision before the shooting.

"We believe there was another individual involved, a suspect, in another vehicle. We're still trying to piece the puzzle pieces together here. (We're) trying to figure out information on the suspect, his vehicle, description and we're trying to figure out what happened here this morning that led up to a shooting and one person dead," said Bino Cadenas with the Austin Police Department.

The police is asking for anyone with information to come forward.

If you were near the area around 3 a.m. and you saw or heard anything, you are asked to call the police.
