Deadly shooting in South Austin

A man is dead after an early morning shooting in the 1600 block of Matthews Lane. Police received a call about the shooting at around 1 a.m.

The shooting happened in a storage facility not too far away from a church. Police say that witnesses called 9-1-1 and reported that a man had several gunshot wounds.

When police arrived they found the man lying outside on the property. He was transported to UMC Brackenridge and was pronounced dead at around 1:45 a.m.

The victim is described as a white man in his 50s.

No arrests have been made.
