BASTROP, Texas - A driver who walked away from a major wreck ended up being walked into a jail cell.
The wreck happened Sunday afternoon in Paige on highway 290.
The fire chief with the Paige volunteer fire department tells FOX 7 that a car traveling east bound left the road and clipped a metal utility poll.
The car was smashed and it briefly caught on fire despite that the driver was able to walk away uninjured.
The driver, who has not been identified, was later arrested by Bastrop County Deputies.
He allegedly had drugs on him and according to witnesses tried to hide the drugs under a near-by house and also tried to give the drugs to a resident who came out to help.
