Eight displaced after South Austin fire

Eight people are out of their homes after a fire in South Austin. It happened just after 10 p.m. on February 11 in the 2500 block of Howellwood Way.

When crews arrived they found the back of the duplex on fire.

The people on one side weren't home at the time.

Neighbors alerted the family on the other side about the fire. They were able to escape with no injuries.

The three adults and five children who are out of their homes are staying with family.

The fire caused $250,000 of damage to the structure and contents inside.

The cause is still under investigation.
