Events planned on anniversary of Trump inauguration

Jan. 20 marks the one year anniversary of President Donald Trump's inauguration and a group of Austinites is planning a rally to call for his impeachment.

Organizers say the rally will be peaceful and address Trump's first year in office. It's just the first of several events happening.

Hundreds are expected to gather at City Hall for an impeachment rally and day of resistance. Organizers say from the moment President Trump took office he's been corrupt and abused his power so they believe he should be held accountable under law through the impeachment process.

Protesters plan to address Trump's administration and how to resist it. One man says regardless if you're a Trump supporter or not the country needs to come together as one.

In the afternoon, The Texas Reproductive Rights Rally is hosting the 45th Roe V Wade Celebration. It's in partnership with the Texas Handmaids, who will wear their robes and walk down Congress in honor of last year's Women's March.

The event is to celebrate the anniversary of the historic U.S. Supreme Court decision. The rally, organizers say, is about seeking medical care for all Texas women.

The impeachment rally is from 10 a.m. to noon and from there people will march to the State Capitol for the Roe V Wade Rally which starts at 1 p.m. and ends at 4 p.m.

All events are free and open to the public. No registration is required.
