Fifth chamber found in recently discovered Round Rock cave

There was another new discovery inside a 10-million-year old cave sitting just feet beneath homes in Williamson County this week.

While crews were drilling for core samples inside the Cambria Drive cave, another chamber was found, making it the fifth. It's 20 feet below ground level with a gap of about 9 feet.

The cave was discovered in February while crews were digging up a sink hole caused by water problems. Officials believe the roof of the cave collapsed, revealing the hidden wonder no one had seen before.

"They found no evidence of life within this cave.  So they feel it's always been a closed cave and it could've been here for 10 million years," Williamson County public affairs manager Connie Odom said.

The county says it's been working with cave experts and structural engineers to stabilize the cave.
