Former Burnet CISD employee arrested for trying to start inappropriate contact with teen

A bus driver and substitute teacher for Burnet CISD, Daniel Dilworth, was arrested for trying to initiate inappropriate contact with a teenager, according to a letter sent home to parents.

Superintendent Keith McBurnett says there is no reason to believe the incident is related to Dilworth's employment with the district and that it did not happen during school hours or on school property. Since the incident, he has been fired.

Dilworth was hired by the district in 2016 after passing a DPS background check and employment reference check.

Parents and students are asked to contact the Burnet County Sheriff's Office with any information regarding Dilworth.
