The iconic Franklin Barbecue is reopening after it was forced to close for nearly three months after the smokehouse caught on fire.
Franklin co-owner Stacy Franklin says the restaurant has the same staff, food and vibe with a few changes.
Stacy says her husband Aaron Franklin and staff have been hustling for months to reopen by Thanksgiving.
The Franklin smokehouse burned in the fire so they've built a new one outside to save time. They've also redone the kitchen and touched up the restaurant with some fresh paint and polish.
Austin Fire Department says the fire started wind blew an ember from the fire pit which then hit the back of the building. The restaurant is in a different building so it only had a little smoke damage.
Officials say the cost of the damage was $350,000.
Franklin will be closed on Thanksgiving but is open the day after and on Saturday and Sunday.
