Helping those affected by flooding and storms

What you can do if you'd like to help those affected by the flooding and storms, or if you need help yourself, in our area.

Bastrop County Office of Emergency Management has a number for the Halloween floods. If you have had damage to your home or property you're asked to call: 512-332-7225.

Here are locations you can pick up flood cleanup supplies and register with the Bastrop County Long Term Recovery Team for further assistance with cleaning up your home and removing damaged contents:

The City of Austin has set up a website for people who may be impacted by floods. There's also information for those who want to volunteer.

Working closely with Emergency Management and other community partners the American Red Cross has the following shelters open for anyone impacted by severe weather and flash flooding:

Recovery Assistance Centers have been opened by the Red Cross along with local governments and non-profit partners.  Red Cross services at the following locations include clean up supplies, casework services to help with needs such as clothing, groceries, replacement mediations and more.

The Blanco River Regional Recovery Team says it is not in need of any material donations (clothes, supplies, etc.) at this time. It's asking those who would like to donate to help residents of the four-county BR3T area (Blanco, Caldwell, Guadalupe and Hays) recover from the flooding and storms that began on October 30 to do so in the following two ways:

  • Check or money order made out to: The Blanco River Regional Recovery Team, and send to the Blanco River Regional Recovery Team, P.O. Box 685, San Marcos, TX 78667

  • In person at any Wells Fargo Bank branch and designate your donation at the teller’s window to the Blanco River Regional Recovery Team of San Marcos, TX.

City of New Braunfels is collecting information from those that would like to volunteer. (more info)
