House Speaker Nancy Pelosi visits Austin and attends JBR Dinner

Speaker of the house Nancy Pelosi is in Austin Monday evening.

She attended the Travis County Democratic Party JBR dinner. This dinner supports the Democratic Party in Travis County.

This year seats were sold out as they brought in Speaker Pelosi to attend the event.

At the dinner they talked about health care, gun control, but mostly on the status of the Democratic Party in Travis County. They say they are more than happy with how the party is doing locally and how they had a great turnout during the 2018 Texas senator election.

Speaker Pelosi took the stage. She talked about the 91 women elected into the House of Representatives. She said Texas is ground zero for Democrats in the next election. Speaker Pelosi also talked about health care, gun control, and working on overturning the president’s emergency declaration.

"This state is so important when it turns and it will soon it will make a difference not only in Texas in the individual lives of the people here it will make a difference in the country and it will make a difference in the world,” said Nancy Pelosi the U.S. Speaker of the House of Representatives.

Speaker Pelosi concluded her talk by saying how important the next  eight months will be as they prepare for the 2020 election.
