Houston Astros World Series trophy in Austin

Austin and Central Texas baseball fans will get a chance to see the World Series trophy for themselves. Governor Greg Abbott is hosting the trophy at the Texas Capitol.

The Houston Astros Championship Trophy Tour kicked off at Houston City Hall and the trophy will make more than 100 stops throughout Texas and the surrounding areas.

Gov. Abbott says fans can come see the trophy from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m. at the State Capitol in the Public Reception Room which is on the second floor. Everyone is welcome and it's free.

This is all happening before the Astros Caravan which kicks off January 10th. The caravan is a multi-stop tour across Texas where fans can meet members of the team.

Astros players and the World Series trophy will make at least two stops in our area on January 10th. The first is at Pluckers on South Lamar at 3:30 p.m. and then at the Academy in Sunset Valley at 5 p.m.
