LISD investigating Vandegrift coach over inappropriate relationship with minor

LEANDER, Texas— The Leander Independent School District confirmed Wednesday that a Vandegrift High School teacher—who is also a coach— is on administrative leave for an inappropriate relationship with a minor.

The Travis County constable’s office is investigating a complaint of the alleged relationship between the Vandegrift coach and the minor. The district says the alleged victim in the case is not a Vandegrift High School student.

Text messages between the two were sent to the FOX 7 newsroom. FOX 7 is not publicly posting those messages since the educator has not been charged with a crime.

The coach has been employed with the LISD since 2010.
