Man arrested for allegedly robbing a child at knife point

The Austin Police Department arrested Kenderick Matamoros, 18, for allegedly robbing an eight-year-old child at knife point.

The incident occurred outside of an apartment complex on the Burton Dr., east of I-35 before 8:00 P.M. Thursday night.

Police said the victim, an eight-year-old male, was walking home with a friend, 12, from a near-by convenient store when a man in a hoodie, later identified as Matamoros, approached them.

Victims told police Matamoros allegedly pulled out a knife and demanded they hand over money. He then grabbed a $10 bill from the male's hands and told the victims not to tell anyone about the incident because he was the devil.

Matamoros is being charged with Aggravated Robbery with a Deadly Weapon, a first degree felony, and his bail has been set at $70,000. He is being held in the Travis County Jail.
