No one expects their child to be in danger while at the local grocery store, but that was the case on Saturday.

Austin Police arrested 30-year-old Leonard Williams Jr. for taking photos of a minor inside of a women's bathroom.

"I know a lot of people here, so to see something like this happen in my community where I grew up... you know I've never heard of anything like this, it's shocking, very shocking," says Stanley Jackson who lives nearby.

It happened around 3:00 Saturday afternoon at the HEB grocery store off of Ed Bluestein.

Police received a call from a father, who said his young daughter came up to him crying after using the restroom.

The victim stated that someone had put a white cell phone underneath the stall door and a flash went off.

"There's really no excuse why this occurred. All I can say is that better supervision is very needed," says Jackson.

According to court documents, the father went to confront the suspect with a manager. Williams was asked to leave the store but police were able to find him later along with the cell phone.

"It is seized. We end up putting a search warrant on the phone to see what's on there because it could be not only the pictures of the victim on there. It could maybe lead to other things like child pornography or other potential victims who are out there that we have not identified at the time," says Sgt. Kevin Covington, Austin Police Department.

Williams is charged with invasive visual recording, a state jail felony punishable by up to two years.

"I believe if a juvenile is involved, the penalties should be more severe. But, that's up to the legislation to make that decision," said Sgt. Covington.

This isn't the first time someone has been caught taking inappropriate photos.

New Braunfels Police say they are still searching for a suspect who was captured on surveillance video in December.

They say he tried taking photos up a woman's skirt inside the Target off Creekside Way.

This past May, Austin Police say a man was snapping pictures underneath a woman's skirt at the Anderson Lane Walmart.

"You get a little upset but at the same time, you've got to realize that we're in a dangerous world and you never know who's out there. You just have to be aware of what's going on around you," says Sgt. Covington.

Every situation is different but police say there could always be additional charges depending on what is found on a cell phone when it's searched.

Williams remains in the Travis County Jail on a $10,000 dollar bond.
