Man dies after being stabbed in suspected robbery in North Austin

- Police say a 50-year-old man died after being stabbed in North Austin Sunday night.  

Around 10 p.m. officers responded to the Villas of Quail Creek apartments at 9036 N. Lamar Blvd. 

When police arrived they found Pedro Calcalel with multiple stab wounds.

Calcalel was taken to Dell Seton Medical Center where he underwent emergency surgery but later died. 

Detectives believe the motive was robbery.  Witnesses told police that multiple male suspects fled the scene after the altercation with Calcalel.

An autopsy for the victim is scheduled for Tuesday to determine manner and cause of death.
