Man found shot to death inside SUV on MLK

The Austin Police Department is investigating the death of a man who was found shot in his car. 

According to APD, police officers were dispatched shortly after 10 a.m. on Saturday, October 28, 2017 to the area of Greenwood Avenue and Martin Luther King Boulevard for a number of calls. 

One of the calls that dispatch had received was about a hit and run in the area. 

When officers arrived on scene, multiple vehicles were located including a tan SUV. Inside the tan SUV was a deceased male with a gunshot wound. Police officers and homicide detectives are interviewing witnesses in the area to establish the timeline of events that led up to the shooting. 

The victim is believed to be in his late thirties or early forties. 

It is believed that the tan SUV was involved in a car accident and had fled the scene.
