Manor man murdered in driveway

A man was killed in his driveway in Manor. His body was found inside his vehicle last night.

"They said they heard two gun shots and somebody's dead,” said a neighbor.

A woman recounts what her neighbors experienced Wednesday night. Travis county deputies say they received multiple calls of shots fired around 8:30. When they got to the scene, they found a man in his 30s dead in his vehicle in his driveway.

The woman we spoke with says she knew him. "We are so surprised,” she said.

"We have a decedent who has gunshot wounds and we don't know who did it,” said TCSO Spokesperson Kristen Dark.

The scene prompted the sheriff's office to give a frightening order to nearby residents. "We need people in this neighborhood to stay in their homes to be cautious, don't open the door to strangers,” said Dark.

The precautions continued into the morning hours with an increased presence of law enforcement at Presidential Meadows Elementary School. The campus is located at the end of the street where the victim lived.

School officials sent out a notification by phone and email district-wide.

"The main thing is we don't want our parents to stress. We're taking the proper procedures and making sure all of our students are safe when they're on campus,” said Manor ISD Spokesperson Zoheb Hassan Ali.
