Money seized on Interstate 10 during traffic stop
Approximately $147,000 in U.S. currency was discovered to be concealed in several bundles throughout compartments within a vehicle during a routine traffic stop by the Fayette County Sheriff's Office.
According to FCSO, a deputy performed a traffic stop on Interstate 10 near Flatonia after the driver had performed a traffic violation on Tuesday, September 5, 2017 around 3:30 pm.
After receiving consent from the driver to search the vehicle, the deputy located several bundles consistent with narcotics packaging concealed in compartments throughout the vehicle.
The driver, 47-year-old Francisco Alanis-Valero was arrested for money laundering.
