Monument honoring Central TX Gold Star families dedicated in Cedar Park

A monument honoring Central Texas families who have lost a loved one in military service was dedicated in Cedar Park at the Cedar Park Veterans Memorial Park. It's the first Gold Star Monument in Texas.

It's all part of an effort by the Hershel "Woody" Williams Medal of Honor Gold Star Families Foundation to build one such monument in each of the 50 states.

Along with the unveiling of the monument there was a wreath laying ceremony and a flyover by the Texas National Guard.

Multiple Gold Star families were in attendance as well as the WilCo Blue Star Mothers and other veteran service organizations.

WWII veteran and Congressional Medal of Honor recipient Woody Williams spoke as well as Texas State Representative Tony Dale.
