More victims identified in Del Valle homicide

Crime lab technicians and Travis County detectives cleared the scene where the fatal fire took place. Few details have been released regarding the four bodies found in the burned out home on Linden Rd.

Neighbors like Darla Trapp tell FOX 7 there has always been suspicious activity on the property.

"There's a lot of traffic and stuff like that we hear gunshots and stuff like that around here a lot."

Of the four bodies recovered from the scene, the first to be identified was Matthew Aaron Barber.

On his Facebook page, Barber stated he attended Bastrop High School and was self employed cutting trees and doing roof work. Investigators said they released Barber's name in hopes of learning more about him and about those with him Thursday morning.

A review of court records by FOX 7 shows that Barber has criminal records in Travis County as well Bastrop and Hays. Between 2007 and last year, Barber had been arrested for offenses like drug possession, driving without a license, possession of a prohibited weapon, aggravated assault, and drunk driving.

Late Friday, Travis County authorities also released the names of two other individuals who they believe are victims of the fire. They are identified as 25-year-old Jacob Derr, and 41-year-old Brian Lee Satterfield.

Both men are from Bastrop.

Court records show that Derr was arrested two years ago on a drug possession charge. Satterfield has an arrest record for theft, drug possession and driving without a valid license.

Investigators say they have found wounds on the badly burned bodies that appear to indicate the cause of death may go beyond the Thursday morning fire.

A report from the medical examiner may not be ready until next month.
