Motorcyclist dies after crashing into tree
A motorcyclist is dead after crashing into a tree. It happened just after 6 p.m. in the 1600 block of Royal Crest Drive.
Police say the motorcyclist was heading southbound when they apparently lost control of the bike. The driver landed in a ditch and died at the scene.
Officials are trying to piece together what happened and to determine if the motorcyclist had hit another vehicle.
Police say the motorcyclist was wearing a helmet. They say alcohol was not a factor.
No one else was hurt in the crash.
