New Braunfels PD issues public safety advisory after aggravated kidnapping attempts

The New Braunfels Police Department has issued a public safety advisory following two recent aggravated kidnapping attempts.

Police say in both attempts, the victims reported that a male flagged them down, entered the vehicle, displayed a firearm, and instructed the driver to continue driving.

The male suspect is described as a thin, older, white male who was clean shaven and wearing a red hoodie.

Investigators with NBPD continue to investigate and are warning drivers to avoid stopping for anyone they don't know, especially people matching the above description.

NBPD also advises people to be aware of their surroundings, especially in parking lots, and to try to park near your destination in well-lit areas.

Anyone with information about the identity of the suspect is asked to call New Braunfels Police or Comal County Crime Stoppers.

You can call NBPD at 830-221-4100.

Comal County Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $2,000 for info that leads to an arrest or a grand jury indictment. To remain anonymous and collect the reward you can contact Crime Stoppers at 830-620-TIPS (8477), leave a tip online or text a tip by texting "Comal" plus your message to CRIMES (274637).
