New Braunfels police investigating shots fired on Landa Street

The New Braunfels Police Department is actively looking for a suspect in connection with shots fired in a parking lot/road rage incident Tuesday afternoon.

According to a release, officers were called to the 300 block of Landa Street for a report of shots fired at approximately 3:25 p.m.

Eyewitnesses reported that two vehicles, a white pickup truck and a white passenger car, were involved in a parking lot/road rage incident where neither would move for the other. An occupant of the truck then got out, approached the car, and began assaulting the driver, who then accelerated forward and rammed the front of the truck.

Meanwhile, another man in a third vehicle watching this unfold, exited while brandishing a handgun and fired a number of shots at the truck which then fled the scene, while the third man got in his car and also fled in a separate direction.

The truck has since been located and no injuries have been reported.

The investigation is ongoing and the incident did prompt a brief "shelter in place" order for patrons and employees of Das Rec, a nearby recreation center, but that has since been lifted.

Investigators have been able to identify the suspect that fired the handgun and officers are actively looking for him. He was last seen driving a white 4-door Nissan Versa with tinted windows bearing a Texas license plate of LBN-2408. Anyone with information about the whereabouts of that vehicle should call 911 immediately.
