One teenager killed in South Austin car crash

A fiery crash in South Austin claimed the life of a teenage boy.

The crash happened just before 6 P.M. Tuesday evening on the 9800 block of Alice Mae Ln.

Investigators said an SUV crashed into a retention pond behind an apartment complex and shopping center.

Police said four people, one adult and three minors, were off-roading in the SUV when it flipped and caught fire.Three people escaped before the vehicle caught fire but a teenage boy wasn't able to. 

He died at the scene. Police believe alcohol was involved in this crash.
