AUSTIN, Texas (FOX 7 Austin) - A pedestrian was hit and killed by a vehicle on Friday night.
According to Austin-Travis County Emergency Medical Services, first responders were called to the intersection of South Congress Avenue and Cloudview Drive for a report of an auto / pedestrian accident around 8: 30 p.m. on Friday, March 29. When first responders arrived on scene, they attempted CPR on the male pedestrian but he succumbed to his injuries and died.

The driver of the vehicle did stay on scene, according to police.
Drivers are being asked to avoid the area and to expect road closures while officers with the Austin Police Department investigate the circumstances surrounding the accident.
