Pflugerville residents evacuated as police investigate

Some Pflugerville residents were evacuated earlier on Wednesday as a safety measure while investigators searched the house where the Austin bombing suspect lived.

Police say explosive experts worked to safely remove and dispose of homemade explosives inside a home located at 403 N. 2nd Street. Police announced around 4 p.m. they were shrinking the evacuation perimeter to Railroad, Walnut and 2nd Street areas.

Pflugerville police say it will still take several hours to process the scene and they cannot give a time limit as the situation remains fluid. Police asked every resident within the perimeter to leave their home. Residents were told they can go to the library or recreation center until 9 p.m. if they have no other place to go.

Pflugerville police say they will post to the city's website with updated information.
