Photos released of vehicle believed to be involved in fatal hit-and-run

Austin police have released photos of the vehicle suspected to be involved in a hit-and-run that left a three-year-old boy dead. It happened just after 5 p.m. on May 22 in the 5900 block of Cameron Road.

Police say that a preliminary investigation shows that an early 2000s model Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD pickup truck was the intersection of westbound Briarcliff and Cameron Road waiting to turn southbound on Cameron.

The vehicle turned onto Cameron and struck and killed three-year-old Ethan Hernandez. Police say Ethan was legally walking in the crosswalk with family members and had the right of way when he was hit. Ethan was taken to the hospital where he was died a short time later.

Police say the truck may be missing a rear brake light.
