Police ID murder suspect in road rage incident

Austin police have issued a warrant for arrest for a teenager they say allegedly shot and killed a man during a road rage incident in northeast Austin earlier this week. Police are searching for the teen who hasn't been seen or heard from in days, police say.

18-year-old Juan De Dios Carbajal-Jaimes has been charged with murder for the shooting death of 48-year old Alfred Lockett. Lockett was killed Tuesday afternoon in a northeast Austin parking lot. Police say he lived in Killeen but worked in Austin.

According to witnesses, Carbajal-Jaimes and Lockett were driving erratically in two separate cars, a red Toyota and blue Infiniti. The cars pulled into a CVS parking lot. Police say that's when the driver of the Toyota got out and shot Lockett before driving off.

They found the suspect's car off Yager Lane but he's still on the loose.Carbajal-Jaimes has not been seen or heard from since the murder.

Carbajal-Jaimes is considered armed and dangerous. If you have any information about his whereabouts, you are asked to call police at the APD Homicide Tip Line at 512-477-3588, APD Homicide Main Line at 512-974-5210 or anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 512-472-8477 (TIPS). Police are offering a reward up to $1,000 for any information that leads to his arrest.
