Police investigating after finding suspicious device in Pflugerville

Police are investigating after finding a suspicious device in a neighborhood park in Pflugerville. It happened in the Springbrook subdivision which is near Grand Avenue Parkway and Pfugerville Parkway.

Authorities say someone called 9-1-1 on June 9 at around 7:30 p.m. to report seeing a strange looking device inside a storm drain at the park.

The person took a picture and showed it to officers who believed it looked like a homemade, explosive device.

Police shut down the area and called in the APD bomb squad and the ATF to help get the object out of the neighborhood.

Authorities stayed on the scene for several hours.

Pflugerville police says the ATF has the object now and is looking into whether it is actually an explosive device.
