When driving during rainy weather always be alert on the wet roads. Never try to drive on a road covered with water. Remember the saying, "Turn around, don't drown." You can get the latest information on low water crossing closures on ATX Floods.

When it comes to hail, obviously the best thing is to find shelter for your vehicle in a garage or covered parking. If you're driving when hail hits, slow down and pull over to the nearest covered area.
Windshields are usually strong enough to withstand hail but many times side windows are not. Experts advise to park at a gas station or a covered area nearby or you can park beside a large building and use it as a shield.
In the event of high winds and in the rare instance a tornado, make sure you have an evacuation route and shelter in place plan. The safest and strongest place is the most interior room of your home. Stay away from windows and doors.
