Two puppies from Austin Animal Center and Austin Pets Alive! will be featured in Animal Planet's Puppy Bowl XII on February 7.

Hailey and Poppy will be going for the title as part of Team Fluff against Team Ruff.

Hailey is a terrier mix who arrived at Austin Animal Center with a leg injury. Austin Pets Alive! took her into their foster program and worked to rehabilitate her leg.

Poppy, a poodle mix, arrived at Austin Animal Center as a lost pet that was never reclaimed by her owner.

Both dogs have now been adopted.

The Puppy Bowl has become a popular event to bring awareness to pet adoptions from shelters and animal rescues across the country. Puppy Bowl XII has animals from 44 shelters and groups representing 25 states.

This year more than 80 puppies, ranging in age from 12 to 24 weeks and representing a variety of breeds, will be competing for Bissell MVP (Most Valuable Puppy). 20 kittens will be in the Bissell kitty hafltime show.
