Rabid bat found in Wimberley

A rabid bat has been found in Wimberley, according to the Hays County Sheriff's Office. 

Deputies with HCSO responded to the St. Stephens Episcopal Church located at 6000 Ranch Road 3237 in Wimerbley on Monday, April 16, 2018 after receiving calls about a dead bat in the area. 

The dead bat was found around 1:30 p.m. in an outdoor breezeway near some lockers. According to Hays County Sheriff's Office, the bat was examined by the Texas Department of State Health Services and tested positive for the rabies virus.
