Round Rock police officer arrested for assault

The Round Rock Police Department says that one of its officers has been arrested for assault.

On April 15, officers responded to the 900 block Hesters Crossing Road for a disturbance call. A male caller said that he had been involved in a physical disturbance with his spouse.

The male caller was identified as Shane Myers, an officer with the Round Rock Police Department. 

Myers was placed under arrest at the scene for assault by strangulation/family violence and was taken to the Williamson County Jail.

Myers has been placed on administrative leave as the an investigation is conducted in accordance with department policy. He has been a police officer with RRPD since October 2005.
