Round Rock Police seeking help in search for missing firearm

The Round Rock Police Department is asking for help from the community in its search for a handgun allegedly used in a November 1 shooting.

Authorities said they believe the weapon was thrown out of a car, leaving the scene near E. Palm Valley Blvd. and Georgetown St where one male victim was shot.

According to police, officers responded to a shots fired call at 1:45 a.m., on 900 block of Fairway Green Cove. The victim sustained a gunshot wound to the abdomen and was taken to the hospital. He is currently in critical, but stable condition.

The suspect, Andrew Nevarez was arrested in Clayton, New Mexico after he fled the scene. Although Nevarez is in custody, police are still searching for the firearm.
