SE Austin shooting puts teen in hospital

Police say a teenager was shot at the Villas of Cordoba community

The call came in to police around 1:30 pm from the Villas of Cordoba complex. One witness says he heard five gunshots out of nowhere and came outside to see what was happening.

Austin police say the victim was transported to a hospital in South Austin. There is no word on his injuries but he is alive and alert and was even able to talk to officers and paramedics.
We spoke to one woman who has only lived in the areas for six months but says she is ready to move.

“I just don't like the environment. It used to be ok now it's different, seems worse, everybody killing each other. It's ridiculous,” said Arquitta Bryant, resident.

APD says they don't have a suspect at this time but they say they fled in a car after they shot the teen.

There is no threat to the public.
